These real estate developments proved to be the best in Hungary
There were 30 real estate developments in this year’s contest; the first three prizes were won by an office building, a hotel and a campus development.
Hungarian developments have won 22 main prizes. According to the event’s statement, in the past two decades, over 400 creations have been introduced.
The best proved to be successful at the following international contest, FIABCI Prix d’Excellence, supported by the Wall Street Journal, where they won 22 main and 30 second prizes.
“The goal of the contest is to introduce the success of Hungarian real estate developments to professional and unprofessional audiences, to reward the outstanding creations,” says the statement. The most important professional organisations support the contest.
House of Hungarian Music wins best public building award!
There were 30 entries this year, including governmental and private investments, office buildings, hotels, commercial buildings, educational buildings, cultural and sports developments, industrial and residential buildings.
The main aspects of judging the entered developments were:
- developmental concept,
- architectural values,
- the technical solutions for realising the project,
- the quality of implementation,
- the development’s economy and effectiveness, social usefulness,
- and how the given facility will better the lives of those living in close and far proximity to it.
The award ceremony was held at Gerbeaud House, with 110 people attending, the first three prizes were given to the winners by Secretary of State, Bence Tuzson.
The winners of the contest are:
Winner of the Office building category is Wing Zrt the joint headquarters of Telekom Hungary and T-Systems, which was built in record time by Market Építő Zrt.
Second place is IK Hotels KFT for realising Aria Hotel, which opened next to the Basilica of Budapest in 2015.
Third place went to MOME’s campus development and technology park, also achieved by Market Építő, and was nominated by KKBK.
The irodakereső.info special award was given to Green Urban Development Kft for developing the Hillside Office, yet again carried out by Market Építő, while Spányi Partners Zrt did the technical control.
Atenor Hungary Kft won the Lakásvásár Média Csoport special award for their entry of Váci Greens A, B, C and D buildings.
Horizont Development Kft received the FIABCI Hungary branch’s special award for developing the Promenade Gardens Office.
The Hungarian Hotels and Restaurant’s Association’s special award’s winner was Tolnagro Kft for their Donautica Fadd-Dombor Hotel and Restaurant.
The Architectural Chamber of Budapest’s special award was given to the Municipality of Budapest’s 13th district for their entry of Láng Cultural Center.
The Hungarian Urban Company gave their special award for the reconstruction of Széll Kálmán square to Fömterv Mérnöki Tervező Zrt.
HuGBC Environmentally Conscious Building Association’s special award was given to Swietelsky Magyarország Kft, for building the Ecodome Office building, which is now home to the implementing firm.
The Monument category’s winner was Archi-kon Kft, for their entry of Budai Vigadó Műemlék’s reconstruction, which was done by Épkar Zrt.
The winner of the Cultural category is KKBK for Gül Baba’s Tomb and its environment’s complex renewal, executed by Záév Zrt.
The winner of the Commercial category is the Municipality of Újpest for the Újpest Market and Market hall, which were built by HBM Soletanche Bachy Kft and Kalotherm Építőipari Zrt.
The Educational category’s winner was the expansion of Budapest’s German School, where the applicants were Bánti+Hartvig Építész Iroda Kft, Budapesti Német Iskola Alapítvány (Budapest’s German School Foundation), Swietelsky Magyarország Kft and Céh Zrt.
The Environmentally Conscious category’s winner was Swietelsky Magyarország Kft and Közti-tima Stúdió for their entry of V47-GTC White House Office building.
The winner of the Hotel category was Nyíregyházi Állatpark Nonprofit Kft for their entry of Hotel Pangea Ökocentrum Nyíregyháza Sóstó, where Ke-Víz 21 Zrt implemented the building.
